Historical information
Violet Street Primary School No. 877, was established in 1866 as the German Common School. It was designed by William Vahland who laid the foundation stone in February of that year. It was built by subscriptions from the local German community. In 1872 it combined with the McKenzie Street German School on the Violet Street site.
