Bendigo Advertiser ''The way we were'' from 2001. Home of the trophies: in about 1873, the Eaglehawk fire station was built. The sum of 2 pounds was given to the water-carrier who arrived first at the scene of a fire. 1 pound went to the second and 10/- to the third. Photo circa 1928. The clip is in a folder.
