Diggers & Mining. The Chinese on the Gold Fields. Slide: In a Ballarat Mine C. 1867. Only a few were employed in gold mines, and they usually did only surface work, Why? Picture; depicts miners pushing a loaded trolley, many of them have a shovel in hand. Markings: 17 (smudged number). Used as a teaching aid.
