Historical information

The candelabra commemorates the group’s first prize win at the 1963 Bendigo Competitions (now known as the Bendigo Eisteddfod).The Benola Singers were founded in 1957 by Mavis Webster MBE, the choir was a prominent four-part community group in Bendigo. After Mavis Webster's retirement, the group changed its name to the Bendigo Chorale. Dunklings The Jewellers, was a well-known Australian retail chain that historically provided high-quality silver-plated presentation pieces.
