Topics written about are - Christmas, an expedition to the Auckland islands, the Lancashire Cotton Company, a Testimonial to Lady Don, a collision in the Bay, the discovery of fossil remains, prorogation of parliament, the wild white man ( on the death of James Morrill), Portland Bay, the Panama Mail Service and the Kynton Agricultural Exhibition.There are sketches of local sites - The Grampians in the Western District, the Yalla-y-Poora Station, Fiery Creek, the Lawrence Rocks, Portland and the Scone Mills, Perth, Tasmania. There are also sketches of Christmas and the new year. Dated 1866.
