Physical description
An illuminated address presented to Mrs George Lansell by the Bendigo Gold District General Hospital upon the death of her Husband 20th April 1906. Leather bound with silver embossing, printed in black with an off white silk frontispiece. Address states: 'Bendigo Gold District General Hospital. To Mrs George Lansell. Dear Madam, We are deputed by the Board Of Management to convey to you and your family their sincere sympathy with you all in your recent bereavement and present sorrow. To the wise liberality of your late husband, the present efficiency if this hospital is largely due, his many gifts have formed the basis of an Endowment Fund that will remain to perpetuate his memory and be a memorial of his charity. To his faith in the future of Bendigo, his enterprise, perseverance and expenditure, the development of the mining resources of this district is mainly due, and continued prosperity of this important city is largely due the result of his efforts.
