Metal tool for crimping or pinking, leather, felt, etc, with enclosed note reading, this is Grandma Junipers pinking iron, you put the edge of flannel or felt on a piece of lead & tap with the hammer, makes a nice scallop edge for rugs or anything like edge for mats etc, Grandma used to use it quite a lot.
