Three pieces of wood with one curved side and two angled sides that come together to form a circular shape. the tops have brass fittings that are attach by hinged mechanisms to a brass plate with a short three centimetre diameter thread on top. At the base of each is a long metal spike with an attachment to push in into the ground.

A Trove search records a fatal mining accident that occurred in Eaglehawk on 27th January 1895 concerning 23 year old William Schofield who was the support of a widowed mother and it can be assumed this is the son of the Mrs. Schofield mentioned in the letter. 28 Jan 1895 - FATAL MINING ACCIDENT. - Trove (nla.gov.au) The Age Newspaper p.6
The item is a condolence letter behind glass in a timber frame. The letter is addressed to Mrs. Schofield from members of the Young Men's Bible Class at the Eaglehawk Wesleyan Sabbath School. The letter is handwritten in a copperplate style and surrounded by a black and white floral watercolour painting by the artist C.G. Darvatt. The frame consists of a gold painted inner timber frame with a decorative outer wooden frame.

John Deason born 1829 on island of Tresco in the Scilly Isles. 1841 worked in Cornish tin mine. 1851 married Meg Davis, along with Richard Oates travelled to Bendigo Goldfields. By 1858 Meg and the four children were dead. John married Catherine McAndrew 28 October 1858. Left the Bendigo Goldfields for Bulldog Gully Moliagul. Discovered the Welcome Stranger nugget 5 February 1869.

Joseph Harrison, born York UK 1810, convict sentenced seven years hard labour Van Diaeman's Land - Tasmania. Ticket of Leave August 1837. Arrived Williams Town (Port Phillip). 1840 worked as waterman. Married Margaret Barrett, relocated to Kilmore. Travelled to Bendigo Creek January 1853. By July 1853 had threatened to kill wife and eldest son William. Charged with attempted murder. He died 29 September 1854.

The sons of a spirits dealer, Andrew and John Usher created one of the world’s most successful blended Scotch whiskies, Old Vatted Glenlivet, and played a key role in building the North British distillery. But they were also responsible for one of the most misunderstood lawsuits in Scotch history – the trademark battle for ‘Glenlivet’. Iain Russell reports. there badly damaged paper labels on the back.
A mirror is mounted on a one centimetre thick, 67 by 43 centimetres wooden frame with 18 centimetres by three centimetres decorative extensions on all sides. there two pieces of metal on the top to hang the mirror. A box nine six by four centimetres is mounted on each side, one is labeled MATCHES and the other CIGAR CUTTER both have ANDREW USHER & Co written on them. Behind the glass is gold coloured writing with black shadows stating USHER'S "SPECIAL RESERVE" & "O.V.C." WHISKIES
