Book, The Story of the Northern District School of Nursing by Frank Cusack.Traditionally, nurse education in Australia has been conducted within hospitals specially registered for the purpose.When the idea of a School of Nursing detached from the hospital-scene was mooted in Victoria in 1949. However , under the sponsorship of that State's Hospitals and Charity Commission it was adopted. The School was commenced in 1950 in ''Lister House'', an old mansion belonging to that city's golden years.
