Physical description
Black and white photo: copy of an original by Batchelder held by State Library of Victoria. Depicting the retort house of the Bendigo Gas Company's works at Irish Town looking south east towards White Hills. The building was commissioned in 1860. The octagonal chimney behind the retort house was the tallest on Bendigo when constructed. Gas holder on the right of the building.
