Object. Light Infantry Hat Badge, dark metal Bugle horn Badge with looped tassels above it, symbolizing the Rose of York. The badge is mounted on a brass disc (dia.4cm). Three lugs on the badge with two holding pins. The bugle horn badge was first introduced by the Germans in the 1700's. From the 1700's each British Foot Regiment had Light Companies (more mobile and loosely organized). These became Regiments in their own right, which were then called Light Infantry.
