A Cook Tours database that the tour by the ARHS and TMSV using trams 11, 26, 39 and 42 and was a farewelll tour, with the first of the Ballarat tram lines closing the following day. Given the traversing jacks on the tram, it was possibly derailed. The tram is in the 1930s colour scheme - photo late 1930s or early 1940s. Photographer unknown.

The photograph shows Ballarat No. 40 running into the depot on 19/9/1971 following its last trip at the time of the closure of the SEC-operated Ballarat tram system. The word "End" can be seen on one of the doors - when they closed it formed part of the expression "The End". Not known who took the photograph.
