The photograph shows SEC Ballarat tram No. 34 in Wendouree Parade, near Forrest St, inbound to Victoria St, with Lake Wendouree in the background. Tram has been fitted with large reflective triangles and appears to have a freshly painted lifeguard flap. Not known who took the photo or the date. Post 1956 to 1960.

The photo is most likely taken before a roof was placed over the tram. The date and Photographer are unknown. See item 6604 and 6632 for other photos. The tram was acquired by the BTPS in 1986.

Black and white photo of ESCo No. 12 outside Wendouree Parade depot, post the 1912 installation of Motorman's windscreens. Both blinds rolled up. Has a roof advertisement for "Carter & Werner Opticians" and a step ad for "Eureka Cos. BO Punch". Seat backs face passengers to sit on the outside of the tram., that is have yet to be relocated to face inwards only. For other copies of this photo see item 757.

Has the destination of "Newtown", 4345.1 - Black and White print contained within the Wal Jack Bendigo and Geelong Album, see Reg Item 5003 for more details. Added 7/8/2013. In the background of Item 9237 is the trailer purchased from the North Melbourne Electric Tramway Company in 1924. Its number in the order in which Geelong cars were acquired was 13 (the Birneys were nos. 14 and 15) and it was eventually converted to a track scrubber car in 1926. Geelong Tramcar No. 18, freshly painted, in Corio Tce. with Strachan & Co's wool store in the background. The car has been converted for one man operation but retains the MESCo's double lineouts that were replaced by single yellow lines in the 1940s. It is likely that the photographs were taken to display the conversion in 1939. See also Item 9242.
