Rose Series postcard No. P 3458, titled "Elizabeth Street Melbourne" looking south from near Little Collins St with Flinders Street station in the background. Has W5 class tram No. 700 (North Melbourne, route 50) northbound. Another two trams are at the Flinders Street terminus and a W2 (route 47) can be seen in Collins Street waiting for the traffic light. A horse-drawn cart is parked outside the Hotel London and an Ice Cart can be seen on the left-hand side of the photograph. The new MLC building is on the south west corner of Collins and Elizabeth Streets. It was demolished in the late 1960's
