Photograph is dated between 1901 and 1914 (James Nelson Undertaker in premises next to library - he took over business there in 1901 and died in 1914, after which business became 'Nelson Bros. Undertakers').
Significance
This is the earliest detailed photograph of the Linton library building that is in the LDHS collection, although the building can be glimpsed in other photographs of Sussex Street.
Physical description
Postcard - Sepia photograph of Linton Public Library building in Sussex Street, Linton. Building has verandah supported by four posts, and curved parapet. "LINTON / PUBLIC LIBRARY" on parapet.
Signs painted on windows: LHS - "PUBLIC LIBRARY" ; RHS - "READING ROOM".
Building appears to have only one window on north wall.
