Historical information
This photograph was owned by George Preston, the apprentice printing worker shown third from the left in the photograph. The photograph was given to the Society by his son Ronald Preston. The printing works site was in Sussex Street, Linton, understood to have been next to the Railway Hotel.
The photograph is believed to have been taken around 1895 or 1896, when George Preston was thirteen. (George Preston was born in 1883.)
