Physical description

Certifies that Charles Barrett of Buninyong is the proprietor of one share (no. 996) in the "Temperance Crystal Malt Ale Company Limited, Buninyong.
Signed by Theo(?) Daniel and David Phelan, Directors, and by Charles Barrett, Secretary, dated 27 April 1898.
Cream coloured paper with printed green border, purple printing. "BUNINYONG" printed across top and bottom borders, and "VICTORIA" printed on left and right-side borders. No. of issue 114.
Certificate crossed in red ink top to bottom, with words "Issued as Fully Paid Up" handwritten in red ink.
Serrated left edge of certificate suggests it was detached from a booklet or form.
'Form of Transfer' printed on back of certificate shows that the share was transferred by Charles Barrett to Nora Burnside of Linton. (Transfer form not signed or dated.)
