Used c.1907-1909 at Dawsons Dam mine by Engineer James Mitchell Carlyle Bennett.
On slip of paper kept with box, dated 9-7-93: "This set of Gold Weights is to go to the Linton Historical Society to match a set of Gold Scales they have in their collection. The weights were from the effects of James Mitchell Carlyle Bennett, whose photos of the Dawson Dam Pump House etc are in the Society's collection. These weights were used at the Dawsons Dam main office, when the daily gold collection was weighed, Circa 1907-09".

Brown analite box with metal clasp, containing a set of gold weights and tweezers. Weights vary in size.
