Statutory Declaration, George Perkins, Linton, 1868

Honora Perkins, the daughter of George and Julia Perkins, was accidentally killed when a cart in which she was travelling home from school was overturned near Linton.

Physical description

Statutory declaration, handwritten on pale-blue lined paper, written (presumably by Samuel Lewers) for George Perkins, who could not read or write. Asserts that George Perkins has insufficient money to pay for the burial of his child Honora Perkins, who was accidentally killed on November 30th, 1868. Document is signed:"George Perkins his mark" (next to a small cross). "Witness S. Lewers".
"Dated at Linton 1st December 1868 " and signed "S. Lewers, JP".
