Samuel Lewers was the first manager of the Bank of New South Wales in Linton, was president of the Shire of Grenville, and also acted as a JP and magistrate.

Physical description

A certificate of appreciation in the form of an "address", presented to Samuel Lewers on his retirement in 1895. The address has been printed on cardboard in decorative lettering, it is headed "To Samuel Lewers, Esq. JP", and is signed by nineteen residents of Linton and district, many of whom were owners of pastoral properties or business enterprises in and around Linton, and/or also involved in local government. The certificate is dated "Linton, 5th April, 1895".
