Historical information

Until Linton was connected to the statewide electricity grid in 1939, this gas light was used to light the altar at the Presbyterian Church in Linton.

Physical description

Curved gas light wall bracket, ornamented with leaves. One end designed to be attached to a wall, the other end has a valve, presumably to control the flow of gas. Beyond this valve, the end of the fitting is threaded, to facilitate attachment of a glass cover.
