Mary Elizabeth Yeoman was born in England and married Edwin Ball in 1861. They migrated to Victoria in 1866 and were living in Linton by 1868. In Linton Edwin Ball and his sons established a blacksmith's business.
Mary and Edwin Ball's children were Barrington, Oscar, Agnes and Kate (all born in England), Ernest (born in Melbourne), and Sydney (born at Linton).
