Historical information

In 1920 Dora Sandow, the youngest daughter of George and Mary Ann Sandow, married William Spencer Grigg, a son of William Michael and Louisa Caroline Grigg. Dora and Bill Grigg purchased the house next to the primary school and called it 'Gnarkeet' after the district in which Dora had grown up, near Mt Bute pastoral station.
