Historical information

Springvale State School, No. 1544, opened in May 1875 and closed in 1906. Land for the school was donated by the O'Meara family.
The name Springvale was changed to Pittong around 1916 when the railway went through to Skipton, to avoid confusion with Springvale in Melbourne.
