Historical information

The children in the photograph are the children of miner Hugh Taylor Cochrane and his wife Catherine.
L-R: Laura Cochrane, born 1864, Robert Cochrane, born 1857, Oswald Cochrane, born 1860, Laura Cochrane, born 1864, and Emma Cochrane, born 1868.
Both Robert and Annie Cochrane became teachers. Annie taught at Linton between 1873 and 1878, and at Spring Vale (now Pittong) between 1879 and 1885.
Robert was Head Teacher at Linton between 1891 and 1895.
