Historical information
The children in the photograph are probably Eliza Jane Kennedy, b. 1862, Richard John Kennedy, b. 1863, Mary Catherine Kennedy, b. 1865, Margaret Ann Kennedy, b. 1866, and Martha Kennedy, b. 1868. The age of the youngest child has been used to date the photograph to 1869-70.
Thomas Kennedy was in charge of Linton police station from about 1865.
