Summary

A Significance Assessment is the process of studying and understanding the meanings and values of objects and collections. It identifies the historic, aesthetic, scientific and social values that an object or collection has for past, present and future generations. The Kew Historical Society received a Community Heritage Grant from the National Library of Australia in 2023 for a second significance assessment. The Grant was for an assessment of the items in the Henty Family Costume Collection, acquired from the descendants of Francis Henty in 2023.
