Photograph of a hand written and illustrated certificate showing that the Historical Society of St Kilda awarded the then Governor-General of Australia, Sir Zelman Cowen, life membership of the Society 'in recognition of his contribution to the Community as a man of letters and as a native of St Kilda'. The certificate was signed by the Society's patrons, the Mayor and Mayoress of St Kilda (Brian and Dita Zouch) and the Society's President (Donald J Taggart) and Honorary Secretary (Molly Robarts) and dated July 1979.
