The Southern Cross newspaper was produced in Brighton to be distributed in Brighton, Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Caulfield, Elsternwick, Oakleigh, Mulgrave, Mordialloc, Frankson, Dandenong, Cranbourne, and surrounding areas. The first issue was published on Saturday 25 February 1871. This is the second issue of the newspaper dated 03 March 1871.
