Service # 2353 William Ambrose Kennedy was born in Ballarat and enlisted in Melbourne on the17th January 1916 at the age of 35 years and 6 months.
He fought with the 3rd Australian Division of the 37th Battalion in France and Belgium. He was killed in action on the 8th June 1917.
Physical description
Circular Victory Medal. 1914 - 1919. No ribbon with medal.
Inscriptions & markings
The obverse shows the winged figure of Victory. The reverse is inscribed THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914 - 1919 surrounded with laurel leaves on outer rim.
The medal edge is stamped with Service # 2353.A- SGT. W.A Kennedy 37 BN. A.I.F.
