Photo looking east in Collins St from Elizabeth St with W2 class tram 284 (Spencer St) and another W2 in the distance. The tram is yet to be fitted with a route number box. The tram was the first to be converted from a W class to a W2 class (8/1928) and was fitted with route number boxes in April 1930. In the background is the Sands McDougal city office and a sign advertising Reuter's Office.
