Set of two letters - one from the Engineer & Manager of the SEC to the Acting Manager Ballarat, forwarding a copy of a letter from the Minister of Electrical Undertakings regarding the possible closure of the Ballarat tramways. The Ministerial letter refers to a petition from J J Jones MLC, and the request for an enquiry. The Letter advises that the government has deferred consideration for five years and that there is no inquiry planned. Copies to other local members. Dated 4/6/1957
