Summary
This book provides a history of the Providence Children’s Home in Bacchus Marsh and its later iteration as a hostel and retirement community for elderly Dutch migrants to Australia. It was established in Bacchus Marsh in 1957. The Children’s Home closed in 1978, it then became a facility for elderly Dutch migrants, called Providence Village. The retirement community later became part of the VMCH (Villa Maria Catholic Homes) network of retirement communities and aged care homes.
