This photograph was taken by The Argus newspaper and ran with the caption:
Opening of the Wool Sales - Australian and overseas woolbuyers busy at their desks at the opening of the 1929-30 Victorian wool-selling season on September 23. the surroundings and atmosphere are characteristic of the Wool Exchange, which is different in many respects from those of the stock exchange.
