This photograph includes James Campbell Bell, who emigrated from England to Sydney, then Melbourne, in the early 20th century.

This photograph was taken by The Argus newspaper and ran with the caption:

Opening of the Wool Sales - Australian and overseas woolbuyers busy at their desks at the opening of the 1929-30 Victorian wool-selling season on September 23. the surroundings and atmosphere are characteristic of the Wool Exchange, which is different in many respects from those of the stock exchange.
