Historical information
The Vietnam Action Committee (VAC) was the first major organization formed in Australia (circa 1965–1966) to oppose the Vietnam War and conscription. Based primarily in Sydney and associated with university campuses, it organized early, influential street protests demanding the immediate withdrawal of Australian and U.S. troops, paving the way for later large-scale moratorium movements.
