The Bendigo Advertiser was first published in 1853. The Bendigo Independent was founded in 1866. In November 1918 the papers amalgamated and continued under The Bendigo Advertiser banner. The Bendigo Advertiser currently delivers news as a printed newspaper, digital paper and on its website and social media. The paper changed from broadsheet to Tabloid in 1998.
Physical description
Two newspaper cuttings of letters to the editor of the Bendigo Advertiser and four correspondences relating them. The first letter to the editor is from H. McCartney Member of Committee 1957. Bendigo published on Friday, December 20, 1957. the second letter is a response from W. H. Crawford President and Life Member Eaglehawk Football Club published on Friday, December 27, 1957. There is a copy of an unpublished letter to the editor by H. McCartney. Also, a statement by an employee of the Bendigo Advertiser about an incident in the Bendigo Advertiser's office on Thursday, January 9, 1958. there two more letters to and from an Industrial Liaison Officer Arthur Bishop Queen Street, Melbourne dated 4th and 5th February 1958.
