This vehicle is a fantastic example of how Holden built their own bodies on to imported chassis. ( in this case a Buick ) as part of their early foray into building motor vehicles/.Built in 1937 this Holden Bodied Buick was made in the South Australian plant and features a Straight 8 engine and is designated the 840 model. The hand crafted body includes a spare wheel each side and is referred to as a six wheeler. Purchased from Sydney for the collection, the Buick is a great example of the early stages of a Holden body with a complete roof pressing.

Physical description

Burgundy Body. White Tyres , Spare wheel holders both sides, Side lights on both sides, Steel front and back bumper bars .Steel strip all around car. Handle both sides to open bonnet.

Buick badge front grille. Bonnet vent with (SPECIAL) badge. Two Buick badges behind front bumper. Buick badge on boot.
