The Bendigo Advertiser was first published in 1853. The Bendigo Independent was founded in 1866. In November 1918 the papers amalgamated and continued under The Bendigo Advertiser banner. The Bendigo Advertiser currently delivers news as a printed newspaper, digital paper and on its website and social media. The paper changed from broadsheet to Tabloid in 1998.
John Henry (Jack) Lockett OHM was born 22/1/1891, he was a WW1 veteran and was the oldest Australian when he died on 25/5 2002. He was remembered with a State Funeral in Bendigo 30/5 2002

Physical description

Three transparent plastic sleeves containing negatives. One has five rows of film with six in each row. A white paper label - 21/1/99 Thursday Jack Lockett. the second sleeve has four rows of film with six in each row with a label- Thursday 22.1.98 Jack Lockett 107yrs. Both sleeves contain images of the same male. The third sleeve has a large negative of a building with three gables behind a wrought iron gate and a tree on both sides.
