Pamphlet titled "Racecourse Road bridge Safety works, Kensington" distributed to residents and business in Kensington, Flemington about the proposed installation of a no right hand turn from Racecourse Road into Bellair St and from Bellair St into Racecourse Road. The pamphlet explains the purpose of the right hand turn ban to prevent high trucks doing a U turn or turning into Bellair St and striking the tram overhead in order to miss hitting the low bridge (3.7m) and other works to direct trucks to the approved routes. This is common occurance.
Significance
Yields information about a long overdue process to try and stop trucks damaging the overhead at the Newmarket rail over bridge and the bridge itself.
