Historical information

Joel Horwood established the Horwood's Foundry in the late 19th Century in Vine Street Bendigo. The Foundry manufactured mining machinery, agricultural castings, and bells.

Physical description

Sepia coloured photograph of Bendigo Iron Works, mounted on card. There are four windows and a door visible behind a large group of workers standing in front of the building. Some of the workers are seated on a raised platform. Most of the windows have broken glass. A partially torn label below the photograph reads "Photographed by Chevalier Commercial Hotel Pall Mall"
