In October 1988, visiting British physiotherapist, Jane Barefoot, conducted a workshop for people with Ankylosing Spondylitis. In this photo, workshop participants are practising one of the stretching exercises.

Physical description

B&W photo of several people doing some stretching exercises in a long, narrow hallway. There is a handrail on one wall, and a brick wall without a handrail on the opposite wall. Some people have one leg up on the handrail while others have their leg placed up high on the brick wall opposite. Each person exercising is bending their torso towards the ankle of the raised leg. There are two people who appear to be standing while the others are doing the exercises.
