Historical information
In the early 1990s, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria began to develop educational programs that would be more accessible to Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities. In one example, volunteer course leaders from the Vietnamese community were trained to deliver the course content in their own language. This photo depicts a group of people from the Vietnamese community attending an Arthritis Self Help Course, facilitated by a trained Vietnamese course leader. Participants learned some simple exercises for managing pain from arthritis in the hands and fingers. A cropped photo from this series appears as part of a photo collage on the cover of the 1998 Annual Report.
