Historical information

Rheumatologist and founder of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (formerly the Rhematism and Arthritis Association of Victoria), Dr Leslie Koadlow AO (1920-2006) is pictured at the Foundation's premises at Action House. This photo appears on page 16 of the Vol 6 No 3, Spring 1993 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. It is captioned: "Below: Dr Les Koadlow, AFV President, endorses the Bionic Walk. Story, page 4." The article on page 4 promotes the upcoming Great Bionic Walk which was to be held at Albert Park Lake on Sunday, the 14th of November. The walk was a fundraising event which aimed to raise five million dollars nationally to support the Australian Orthopaedic Association Research Foundation through sponsorship of participants in the walk. A sausage sizzle and entertainment was planned to provide refreshments for participants after the walk.
