On Saturday the 28th of May 2005, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV), incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria (OV), held a Fibromyalgia Seminar and Expo at the Melbourne Town Hall. The event was attended by more than 350 people. Presenters included Rheumatologist, Dr Daniel Lewis, and Dr Craig Hassed from Monash University, who specialises in mind-body and integrative medicine. In this photo, Dr Lewis is using a diagram titled "Mind body model" to explain how circumstances affecting both the mind and body can contribute to the amplification of pain. Also available on the day were 30 minute break-out sessions covering topics such as Feldenkrais, Food for Life (nutrition), Pain Management, Psychosocial Aspects, Relaxation, and Yoga.
