On the 2nd of March 1995, the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases was officially opened at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Centre was a joint project between the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria, the University of Melbourne, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In this photo, Dr Daniel Lewis is about to be presented with an Associate of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria trophy from Bill Dix, while Dr Les Koadlow looks on. A similar photo appears on page 16 (back cover) of the Vol 8 No 2, Winter 1995 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. In that photo, Bill Dix presents a glass or perspex trophy to Dr Lewis, while Dr Koadlow looks on. The photo is captioned: "Dr Daniel Lewis, left, former Board President, is congratulated by Mr Bill Dix on being made an associate of AFV. Dr Les looks on."
