On the 2nd of March 1995, the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases was officially opened at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Centre was a joint project between the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria, the University of Melbourne, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In this photo, Sir Gustav Nossal and Patricia Papadopoulos are depicted clasping hands while chatting at the opening. Another photo, taken at the opening, depicts Sir Gustav Nossal showing Mrs Papadopoulos a model of a spine and pelvis. That photo appears on page 2 of the Vol 8 No 2, Winter 1995 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update.

Physical description

COL photo of a man and a woman, sitting down. They are clasping both of their hands to one another's. They are in a hospital ward. Behind them are three hospital examination tables with booth curtains, and an electronic exercise bike. Hanging from a pole behind the bike is a plastic skeleton with a curly brown wig on its head.
