In preparation for the construction of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's new building at 263-265 Kooyong Rd, Elsternwick, an event was held on the 8th of December, 1993, to commemorate the pegging of the site. In this photo, Dr Leslie Koadlow (AFV founder) and Bill Dix (Chairman of the Appeal Committee) remove the brown paper covering a large advertising billboard. Also depicted in the photo are John Sullivan (Manager of Trusts at Perpetual Trustees), Alan Sime (Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, partially obscured), and one unidentified man holding a colour illustration of the proposed new building. Another photo from this event appears on page 2 of the Vol 7 No 1, Autumn 1994 issue of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. In it, a man has affixed a colour illustration of the proposed new building onto the billboard.
