Historical information
In October 1994, members of the Joint Action Group (JAG) from the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV) gave an exercise demonstration at the Myrtleford International Festival. The event was sponsored by the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth). This photo depicts group members on stage during their performance, demonstrating some chair-based exercises. Leading the exercise demonstration is JAG group leader, physiotherapist and AFV's Physical Activities Educator, Valerie Sayce, who is standing in the front corner of the stage.
Physical description
COL photo of a group of women presenting an exercise demonstration on a large outdoor stage. One woman is standing in the front corner of the stage, while the other four women are sitting on chairs arranged in a staggered formation on the stage. The performers have been Photographed from behind, and are therefore in the foreground of the image. In the background, there is a large audience sitting on a grassy hill, which slopes down towards the stage and performers. There are several large trees behind the audience. In the distance, to the right of the frame, there is a crowd of people standing behind a string of bunting tied to some poles at waist height.
