Historical information

The Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Telephone Information Service (TIS) was staffed by volunteers, and provided information and referral services to members. In this photo, volunteer members, Glenda Schulman and Noel Smith, take calls in the TIS room at the AFV's headquarters in Elsternwick. This photo appears as part of a photo collage on the rear cover of the 1998 Annual Report. A similar photo appears on page 10 of the 2000 Annual Report, accompanying a report on "Telephone Services education".

Physical description

The woman (facing the camera) is wearing a telephone receiver headset and the man (with his back to the camera) is using a telephone receiver handset. The bookshelves contain brochures, folders, and other printed materials (booklets, etc). There is a window on the other wall, and next to it, some brochures in paper pockets taped to the wall.
