The Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Telephone Information Service (TIS) was staffed by volunteers, and provided information and referral services to members. In this photo, volunteer members, Glenda Schulman and Noel Smith, take calls in the TIS room at the AFV's headquarters in Elsternwick. This photo appears on page 9 of the Vol 13 Issue 03, Spring 2000 quarterly magazine of Arthritis Victoria (incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria). The photo accompanies an article titled "arthritis victoria's workplace". It is captioned: "The TIS Room Glenda uses the headset, Noel uses the handset."

Physical description

The woman (looking directly at the camera) is wearing a telephone receiver headset and the man (with his back to the camera) is using a telephone receiver handset. The bookshelves contain brochures, folders, and other printed materials (booklets, etc). There is a window on the other wall, and next to it, some brochures in paper pockets taped to the wall.
